Description

Anthurium Veitchii, also known as King Anthurium is a magnificent Anthurium native to Colombia. A true collectors item, Veitchii, displays leaves that are oblong to oval in shape with arrow-shaped bases, deeply quilted and pleated and can reach up to 1m in length and 30cm in width.

Anthurium Veitchii has an upright habit and grows without the need for soil substrate and is thus termed epiphytic. That being sad, your Anthurium will be happiest grown in soil-less medium, for example an orchid mix. Bird’s Nest Anthurium is a spectacular plant from Araceae family often found in lower eastern Caribbean islands.

We also have Anthurium Clarinervium and Anthutium Hookeri in our store.

Anthurium Care Tips

For more detailed care tips, check out or blog post on Anthurium.

Light

Anthurium thrive in medium to bright indirect light.

Water

Anthurium appreciate consistent watering and do not like to dry out fully. Water your Anthurium when the top 3cm of the soil are thoroughly dry.

Humidity

While glossy-leafed Anthurium will do well in moderate humidity, Anthurium with velvety leaves generally require higher humidity of at least 70%. Most corrugated Anthurium only thrive from 80%+.

Soil

Anthurium will do well in a very loose, aerate mix like our Aroid Potting Mix. You can also grow them in soil-less substrates such as sphagnum moss or semi-hydroponics.

Propagation

Anthurium can be propagated by stem cuttings or from seed via pollination.

Toxicity

All Anthurium are toxic to humans and animals when ingested.
