Dieffenbachia Banana is a rare dumb cane variety with beautiful leaves that look similar to those of a banana palm! This Aroid has ovate, very bright, almost iridescently green leaves with stunning, deep green speckles and leaf margins.

Dieffenbachia Banana makes for an amazing houseplant due to its unique appearance and easygoing nature. Over time this plant forms an upright cane, similar to that of palm species.

Dieffenbachia Banana is easy to grow if you strive for the best possible care. Dieffenbachia like it warm, so ideally give it a bright spot in which the temperatures do not drop below 21 degrees. They also really dislike drafts, so best do not place it too close to a window.

Dumb Canes are rather thirsty and need regular watering, but they can withstand some neglect and drying out now and then. They also grow, albeit more slowly, in lower light situations. Dieffenbachia belong to the family of Araceae, so they will appreciate our Aroid Potting Mix, which is very well-draining was developed specifially for these plants.

Dumb Canes get their name from the temporary speechlessness that can occur after chewing a piece of the stem. If chewed or ingested, sap of the plant can irritate the mucous membranes and cause swelling and inflammation of the tongue and throat.
