Description

Alocasia Azlanii is a rare Aroid with the most spectacular leaves, which are a metallic purple in colour and feature a suffused pink hue that emphasises the veins. And, as if that was not special enough yet, this houseplant also has stunningly red leaf undersides, which make it an eye-catcher from all sides. This gem of a plant is truly tropical, coming from the rain forests of Brunei and will add some wildness and colour to your indoor jungle!

Alocasia Azlanii will thrive in bright, indirect light. Make sure to keep this houseplant away from heating or cold drafts, as it dislikes constant changes of temperatures. Water sparingly, but frequently in order to keep the soil moist at all times.

Alocasia Azlanii can undergo winter dormancy like other Alocasia. So, during the winter months, you should water this Aroid less if it stops growing. Between March and October, fertilize your Alocasia regularly and keep in an environment of 18–24 degrees.

Make sure to give your Alocasia houseplant the best head start at your home with a suitable Alocasia Potting Mix like pon that will help them grow better and faster.

Other Alocasia currently in the shop: Alocasia Baginda Dragon Scale, Alocasia Reginula Black Velvet or Alocasia Pink Dragon.

Alocasia Care Tips

Light

Put your Alocasia in a spot with bright indirect light.

Water

While Alocasia are rather thirsty, too much water can cause root rot and ultimately lead to the death of your plant. This is why you should never let your Alocasia sit in water (e.g. standing water in the saucer). When the top 3cm of soil are thoroughly dry to the touch, it is safe to water again.

Please note: Jewel Alocasia as are far less tolerant of constantly wet soil than the other, thinner-leafed Alocasia varieties. Be particularly careful not to overwater them!

Humidity

Alocasia tolerate moderate humidity of around 50%, but they will thrive better and grow faster in higher humidity from 70%+.

Soil

Use our soil-less and well-draining Alocasia potting mix if you want to make your Alocasia truly happy! Alocasias love it airy around the roots, so a loose and ideally soil-less mixture will work wonders.

Toxicity

All Alocasia are toxic to humans and animals when ingested.
