Ceropegia woodii, also known as string of hearts is a succulent native to South Africa, Swaziland, and Zimbabwe. It is an evergreen succulent trailing vine that grows to 10 centimetres in height and spreads to reach up to 2–4 metres in length. The stems of Ceropegia Woodii have a purple hue and the leaves are heart-shaped (hence the name) with silver markings. String of hearts likes to be pot bound- we recommend growing it in the same pot for at least couple of years.
Ceropegia Woodii is a perfect plant for busy people as it is really easy to take care for and will survive if you forget to water her! We also have a variegated version here.
This plant is in 8cm size pot and is about 15cm long. It comes in a plastic nursery pot.
Light: bright spot, can whit-stand a few hours of sunshine a day
Water: as opposed to most succulents, needs regular (possibly weekly) watering in summer and much less in winter but only when potting mix is dry to touch
Soil: fast draining potting mix such as cactus mix
For all those with achy breaky hearts that seem to shatter with every new relationship, failed tinder date or slight celebrity obsession? Armour yourself with some backups!
