Senecio Stapeliiformis might look like a mini version of asparagus but please do not eat this little green friend which is native to the eastern cape of South Africa. With small, dark green bunching stalks and leaves the shape and texture of this plant are its most intriguing features.

Senecio Stapeliiformis is a perfect plant for busy people as it is really easy to take care for and will survive if you forget to water her! The plant prefers a drier, brighter space, perfect for growing next to a window.

Senecio Stapeliiformis prefer a bright space without direct sunlight. A south facing window may be too bright for this plant however morning sun will not be a problem. Allow soil to dry out fully between watering, this is approximately once per week in the growing season and once  per month in the period of dormancy.

Size

This plant is about 15 cm tall and comes in a plastic nursery pot 8cm big in diameter.

At the moment we are processing the orders Monday to Wednesday – so if you order from us on a Wednesday it won’t be processed until the following week.

Due to bio laws our plants are shipped only to the countries of European Union and Switzerland. Shipping fee includes packaging and handling costs. All parcels are sent with a tracking number. We cannot guarantee specific delivery times. Please note: we aim to get all orders shipped within 7 working days from the date of order.

To avoid plants being held up in the post, we only post them out Monday to Wednesday (depending on the season) if shipping inland Germany or Mondays only when shipping in EU.

When ordering in winter, please know that we ship our plants with heat packs included in the package. We can however postpone the shipment if the temperatures go below 0.

Please note that some damage can occur during transit on occasions, despite our best efforts to package our plants ready for travel. We hope you understand if that does by chance occur.

Water

Unlike many other succulents, it needs regular watering during the warm months, but less during the winter dormancy. We recommend bottom watering, since Senecio does not like its leaves to lie on wet soil. Water when the soil feels dry!

Loose and well draining mix. We recommend a Cactus mix!

Toxic to pets. In humans it is reported that dermal contact of the fresh juice of this plant may cause skin irritations with pruritus and pustules
