Sansevieria Star Canary, also known as Snake Plant or mother in law tongue is a small succulent with a very interesting colouring and a slow grower. The distinctive, juicy yellow colour illuminates the youngest leaves and contrasts beautifully with the dark green of the older ones. The beautiful, harmonious rosette pattern of Sansevieria ‘Star Canary’ is further emphasised by the light, beige leaf rims that mark their wavy edge. As the leaves mature, their golden colour fades into a deep olive green shade which provides a contrasting background for the fresh, rising leaves with a sunny, golden colour.
The ‘Star Canary’ is a miniature variety and usually does not grow very large. Its golden yellow colouring is determined by the amount of light the plant gets.
Sansevieria Star Canary is a semi-succulent that tolerates low light levels and infrequent irrigation. The genus Sansevieria has been recently included in the Dracaenaceae family. If you’re interested in Sansevieria’s we also have Sansevieria kirkii, Sansevieria Masoniana, Sansevieria Moonshine and Sansevieria Metallica in our range.
