Description

Philodendron Brasil  is a fast-growing, easy, vining plant. Its graceful, heart-shaped leaves are dark green with yellow variegation in the center of the leaf. The leaves look almost like they are painted! As if that weren’t enough, the stems have pinkish orange hue.

Philodendron Brasil  is a climber, so it will love you for giving it a pole on its way up! We recommend our brass support for that.

Make sure you plant your Philodendron Brasil  in an airy potting mix, like our very own Aroid Potting Mix, which we developed specifically for this plant family. If you decide to make one yourself, it should consist of bark, perlite, and peat moss.

Also check out our Philodendron GloriosumPhilodendron Melanochrysum or Philodendron Bob Cee!

Fun fact: In the Greek language ‘Philo’ means ‘love’ and ‘Dendron’ means ‘tree hugger’, describing the natural disposition of almost all Philodendrons to climb up trees.

Disclaimer

An example picture gives a trustworthy image of the plant with good care. The plant in the example picture is not the plant that will be delivered. This is an example, so variations are possible. The eventually delivered plant may differ in for example size, number of flower branches, etc.

We ensure that our plants are correctly labelled according to our utmost capabilities as plant distributors. Unfortunately, no professional is able to fully ensure the correct labelling of the plant without seeing the inflorescence.  We cannot guarantee the absence of genetic mutations that may lead the plant to change its appearance as it matures.  Due to this, we cannot take responsibility for discrepancies regarding the labelling of plants.

Philodendron Care Tips

Light

Philodendrons thrive in medium to bright indirect light, but will tolerate darker spots as well.

Soil

Use a well-draining potting mix, such as our Aroid Potting Mix, ideally containing some coco coir, bark and perlite. You can also grow Philodendrons in soil-less mixes like sphagnum moss and perlite or hydroponics.

Water

Philodendrons like their soil to dry between waterings. Water when the top 3cm of soil are totally dry to the touch.

Humidity

Most Philodendron, especially the Erubesecens varieties, will thrive in average humidity. However, some of the more tropical and velvety species will require higher humidity to survive.

Toxicity

All Philodendron are toxic to humans and animals if ingested.
