Description

Calathea Majestica ‘White Star’ is a cultivar of the Ornata Species and one of the most elegant. With paint like white and pink stripes on the leaves, this calathea is a staple plant for the passionate collector. Moreover, the palette of purple, greens and white brings a touch of colour to any collection, without being too extravagant.

As a member of the Marantaceae family, Calathea Majestica ‘White Star’ is an active plant which undergoes observable nyctinasty, the process of foliage reacting to the daily light cycle. Therefore it will enjoy a position out of direct sun light with changes in the daily lighting environment.

Calathea Majestica ‘White Star’  thrives indoors with the correct care. Ensure your environment has high humidity with no direct sun light.  Above all, this plant should be watered with soft water only, free from calcium carbonate and other minerals found in many urban water sources. Grouping Calatheas will help achieve the correct humidity along with an attentive watering routine. As a result you’ll have a healthy looking plant with no burnt edges.

Added bonus: Calathea are not poisonous which means it’s pet friendly (non toxic to cats and dogs).

Pair it with Violaine Toth planter, Fóbe or NAHK ceramics.

Care Tips: group calatheas together for optimal humidity, remove dead grown 1cm from the base of the plan with sharp garden specific shears.

Light: bright, indirect light

Water: generously in spring/summer, much less in autumn/winter, water should be room temperature and soft

Humidity: High

The plant is approximately 40cm tall and comes in a 12cm plastic pot.
