FACT. Compared to horses, zebras are pretty unpredictable. They can be aggressive and
even vicious. Trying to ride a zebra is dangerous.
Do not ride your Zebra plant.

Just don’t.

Alocasia Zebrina is an exceptionally decorative plant! It has its name from the zebra patterned stems and a narrow shaped foliage. Just a few years ago this was an extremely hard to find plant that owes its name to the zebra print on its stems.

Alocasia can go dormant in winter so don’t be alarmed if its leaves die back to the soil.

The plant is approx. 30cm tall and it comes in a plastic nursery pot size 11cm.

This plant is toxic to animals if consumed.

Care tips

//

LIGHT An Alocasia Plant requires very bright indirect light. Direct sun burn its leaves.

WATER Always allow the top 2-3cm of the soil of an Alocasia Plant to dry out before watering, and try to keep the soil evenly moist. Over-watering, wet leaves, and soggy soil makes an Alocasia plant susceptible to a variety of serious fungal infections. Check the soil frequently until you are sure of the plant’s watering needs. Water an Alocasia Plant less during the winter when it is dormant. FERTILIZER Fertilize an Alocasia Plant every two weeks from late March through September with a basic houseplant food at 1/2 the recommended strength. Never fertilize an Alocasia Plant during the winter. Too much fertilizer causes salts to build up in the soil and burn the leaves of an Alocasia Plant.

HUMIDITY Alocasia Plants grow best in high humidity. To increase the humidity around a house plant, place the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Be sure the plant is sitting on the pebbles and not in the water. You can also increase the humidity around an Alocasia Plant by placing a small humidifier near the plant or grouping plants together.

PROPAGATION Propagate it by plant division.

POISONOUS PLANT INFO An Alocasia Plant is a very poisonous houseplant with a #4 toxicity level. Alocasia Plants should always be kept away from small children and pets.
