Description

Alocasia Zebrina is an exceptionally decorative plant! It has its name from the zebra patterned stems and the contrasting narrow shaped foliage. Just a few years ago this was an extremely hard to find plant! Alocasia has a very succulent stems which means it doesn’t need that much water- better let it dry out between waterings. Zebrina doesn’t like direct sunlight, keep it in a bright spot but away from scorching the sun. Since Alocasia Zebrina comes from South Asia, it does like humidity, best is to get a humidifier or group it with other plants. If you’re an Alocasia fan, we also have Alocasia Reginula and Alocasia Silver Dragon. Occasionally we also get Alocasia Dragon Scale and Alocasia Cuprea.

Please note: misting your plant is not a sustainable way of raising humidity around it, plus it might cause damage on foliage if the room isn’t well ventilated.

Alocasia Zebrina can go dormant in winter so don’t be alarmed if it’s leaves die back to the soil.

This plant is approximately 40-45cm tall and it comes in a plastic nursery pot size 14cm.

WARNING: This plant is toxic to animals if consumed.

Care Tips:

Light: Bright, indirect sunlight

Water: let the plant dry out between waterings

Humidity: above average

Soil: well draining mix
